Daredevil walks slackline 1800 metres above canyon

|

A DAREDEVIL has diced with death in China, walking across a slackline nearly two kilometres above a canyon floor.

Dean Potter, from New Hampshire in the US, made the 40 metre crossing 1800m above the floor of the Enshi Grand Canyon in about two minutes on Sunday, Sky News reported.

Footage showed him barefoot and wearing a large set of headphones as he carried out the feat without any safety line or net.

Potter, 40, is also known as a rock climber and BASE jumper.

A "slackline" is considered more challenging than a conventional tightrope as the line is not completely taut, leaving it susceptible to bouncing and stretching.
